26th April - 1 May 2005 at Moviemento and City-Kino cinemas, and the KAPU music-venue official site : www.crossingeurope.at
The sophomore 'Crossing Europe' event, showcasing first- and second-time directors from all over the continent (EU and non-EU states included) proved a notable success with the public in this Danube-side city, notching an impressive 22% increase in public attendances despite a slimmed-down programme of features.
The main-section competition was won by Isild le Besco's Demi-Tarif (a controversial choice with many attendees), while a comprehensive retrospective focussed on German director/punk-musician Peter Braatz (aka Harry Rag of the band S.Y.P.H., who played a gig at KAPU) and his Slovenian wife Maja Weiss (Guardian of the Frontier).
