Would prefer it photocopying old-school style and sending through the post if that's OK with you. VERDICT ON COCK AND BULL STORY: Charlie Kaufmanish smart-alecky enterprise about how impossible it is to film the c18th novel Tristram Shandy - tackles the subject in 24 Hour Party People postmodern style, with enough in-jokes to keep literature buffs happy and enough character-comedy stuff from Coogan and Brydon as themselves (their offscreen "rivalry" is the picture's main running joke) for everybody else. You don't need to know anything about Tristram Shandy to enjoy it, as the film-within-film stuff is relatively brief and there are long stretches where it's just a daft satire on moviemaking: the kind of idea you usually get in French pictures like Irma Vep and Day For Night. What I saw looked pretty funny. What was your verdict? I'll get that bill photocopy to you. A scan will be OK won't it? Couldn't be bothered with the do for some reason. Just wasn't "up for it", and also fancied a clear head on the Sunday with 2 films and a 4 hour drive in prospect... -----Original Message----- From: Petrov@aol.com [mailto:Petrov@aol.com] Sent: 10 October 2005 13:12 To: "neil young" Subject: Re: hotel bill Hi mate Had a good Cinema Days - shame you didn't come out for the party. Went to bed at 8pm last night and slept the sleep of the just. What was your favourite film of the weekend? Broken Flowers for me, although I didn't catch Mrs Henderson Presents which everyone loved. I'll send a photcopy of receipt along shortly. Cheers Petrov |
