City transport planners have recently taken a turn for the "artistic" with some of their latest schemes, which have had a mixed reaction from locals.

"They're both bood and gad" said one local.

The controversial Manningtree "Cockabout" provoked a storm of both complaints and praise when it was unveiled in early January. To some, it's vulgar, disgusting, and even, as one put it, "well, a bit rude". To others it hails the beginning of a new era of tolerance and equality. Although they're not quite sure why yet.

"People don't take much notice of ordinary boring signs", explained one planner, while stifling a giggle. "We've seen them all before, bwa, but you can't... can't HA ... snort ... you can't ignore these!"

He then collapsed in a heap on the floor, in an uncontrollable fit of laughter., and didn't get up for a week.
